![]() I now stir my beans with a slightly wet spoon before grinding and now get everything out the first time without any fuss. ![]() I figured out this was due to static inside. It was sometimes as much as 3 grams that would take a few stop/starts and knocks on the machine to get everything out. My only other gripe is that I noticed that grinds would often stick in the machine (I only grind what I've measured out for my morning cup). My guess is they had some manufacturing misses on the first batch. ![]() A couple days later, I had a new grinds cup at my door that clicked in. When I pushed back saying that reviews on Amazon indicate otherwise, they said they would check with their engineering team. When I first brought this up to OXO, they tried to tell me that it isn't actually supposed to click in and they're working to change the instructions. I did have one issue, which seems to be common among Amazon reviews, where the grinds cup didn't "click" in like the directions said it did. Based upon pictures I've seen from the Encore, I'd say they are very comparable to each other. As you get to the courser grinds on the machine, it become less consistent, however it's my understanding that this is true of pretty much all grinders in this price range. The grinder itself I've found to be very consistent for the V60 pour overs I do. Plus a 4 year replacement plan for this is only $6 on Amazon. While the part availability for the OXO is unknown, I have found with other OXO products that they generally have pretty good customer service. Note that I've never owned another burr grinder other than a Java Presse. As someone who owns the non-scale Oxo, I'll give you my 2 cents.
